Let It Snow

Like the title says, Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle is a book that contains three holiday romances.

What the cover doesn't say is; these three stories are interconnected, in their own odd way. From a cheer squad doing hand stands, to purple chairs being more than just chairs at Starbucks, to falling into icy creeks involuntarily.

The book starts off with a story by Maureen Johnson, my personal favourite. It follows the tale of Jubilee (yes, that's her actual name), as she deals with her delinquent parents (Spoiler: They get arrested. Wait till you see why) and her beyond perfect boyfriend Noah, before Christmas arrives.
However, things don't go the way she expected. (Of course.)

The worst blizzard of all times is set to hit, that very night. It plays the role of The Ring, really.

"One Blizzard to rule them all, One Blizzard to find them,
One Blizzard to bring them all and in the darkness bind them."

Delirium

The most dangerous sicknesses are those that make us believe we are well.
- Proverb 42, The Book Of Shhh

Well. I was warned. I waited months, trying to avoid reading this book. But finally, one afternoon, curiosity got the better of me.

I'm pretty sure authors need to start giving warnings, in their foreword. Talking about foreword, Lauren Oliver, the author of the book 'Delirium', has a beautiful one.

"For all the people who have infected me with
amor deliria nervosa in the past --
you know who you are.
For the people who will infect me in the future -
I can't wait to see who you'll be.
And in both cases:
Thank you."

From that very foreword, I knew I was in for a ride that was going to hurt, but love all the way. (Go away, you 50 Shades of Grey fanatics. That was a purely innocent sentence.)

On to the book review!
How convenient would it be to be administered an injection, that calmed your emotions down to the point where you're permanently in Zen Mode?

The Fault In Our Stars

Hazel Grace, considered to be one of the brave ones. Not for fighting heroically against the Dark Lord, or surviving the Hunger Games. But for living with her choices, and being happy with them.

The Fault In Our Stars, begins with Hazel telling us her mother feared she was suffering from depression. Merely because she was actually just living every fangirl's real life.

"I rarely left the house, spent quite a lot of time in bed, read the same book over and over, ate infrequently and devoted quite a bit of my abundant free time to thinking about death."

Rarely left the house? Check.

Spent quite a lot of time in bed? Hazel is speaking my language!

Read the same book over and over? Guilty.

Ate infrequently? *stares at empty candy bar wrappers* This is why I'm going to be kicked out of my house one day. Skipping dinner for sugar.

Devoted quite a bit of your abundant free time to thinking about death- Wait what? Okay, maybe not EVERYTHING applies here. Then again, not all of us are suffering from cancer, like Hazel. NO, THAT WASN'T A SPOILER. Hakuna your tatas. Our free time is normally spent online, bonding with other fan girls. Or sleeping. Sleeping works just fine for me.

Perhaps, pineapples?

Another one bites the dust!

Okay, I've clearly used that proverb in the worst way possible. I meant to use it as a way to say, HAHA, another person who visited my blog! Pretty sure there's a proper proverb for that. Um, moving on. This blog is going to be about books, mainly.

Or rather, a glimpse into my mind, when I read certain books. I'm going to cover mainly young adult fiction by published authors as well as some amazing books I find online (mainly on Wattpad), that NEED to be published, some day.

For people who do know me, you know I get distracted pretty easily. This blog shall be, you can say, an answer to why I'm always so distracted. Maybe.

So welcome, to a tiny bit of the odd mind that is mine~
That's a little bit of a tongue twister, isn't it?
Never mind, I just said it 10 times, really fast. -_-
